Minutes for April 24, 2012

 

Present: MaryLea St. Thomas, D.A. John Snider, Sherry Fisher, Hon. Judge Hoffman, Pastor Greg Watling, Terry Murphy

 

1.  7:37 AM call to order by MaryLea St. Thomas.

2.  Roll Call

3.  It was noted that the meeting had been properly advertised and posted.

 

4.  Motion to approve agenda by John Snider, 2nd by Judge Hoffman.  Motion carried.

 

5.  Motion to approve the January 25, 2012 meeting minutes by Judge Hoffman, 2nd by John Snider.   Motion carried.

 

6.  Treasurer’s report:  Checking account $413.70.  Savings Account $328.88.

Motion to approve the treasurer’s report by John Snider, 2nd by Judge Hoffman.  Motion carried. 

a)  Grants:  A thank you note was received from Shandee Kempf from the New London School District for the $400 grant that they received.  Sherry Fisher noted that all 4 of the grant checks have been cashed.

           

7.  Information Sharing Program/MOU – Table until next meeting.

 

8.  Proposed legislation discussion:  A discussion took place regarding an ordinance to enter a home that is hosting an underage drinking party without a search warrant. 

Judge Hoffman shared that he does presentations at schools at prom time and he presented at the Manawa High School last week.

 

9.  Best Practice Programs:

 

10.  Membership: Ongoing.

 

11.Roundtable:  Sherry Fisher shared that one of the State Tobacco Prevention and Control objectives this year is doing an assessment of the City of Waupaca to see how many multi-unit apartment complexes have smoking policies in place.  It appears that 70% of the apartments do have a smoking policy.

Pastor Greg Watling shared that he was part of a New London School project where community members come in and help students with the interview process.  Pastor Greg invited other members to volunteer to help with this, as representation from different professions will benefit the students.
