Minutes for January 25, 2012

Present: Connie Abert, MaryLea St. Thomas, Bernie Kocher, D.A. John Snider, Sherry Fisher, Hon. Judge Hoffman, Pastor Greg Watling, Mary Anich, Rob Karski

Guests:  Corene Strohfeldt from New London Schools. 

              Chief Terry Lorge, Clintonville Police Department

1.  7:40 AM call to order by Connie Abert.

2.  Roll Call

3.  It was noted that the meeting had been properly advertised and posted.

4.  Motion to approve agenda by John Snider, 2^nd by Judge Hoffman.  Motion carried.

5.  Motion to approve minutes (as amended to read Waupaca County Post instead of Post Crescent) of November, 2011 meeting by John Snider, 2^nd by Bernie Kocher.  Motion carried.

6.  Treasurer’s report:  Checking account $423.70      Savings Account $1,728.43.

Motion to approve the treasurer’s report by John Snider, 2^nd by MaryLea St. Thomas.  Motion carried.  It was noted that the fiscal audit for 2011 has been completed.

a.  Grants:  (Angie from Waupaca County Post took pictures of the grant recipients and will do a picture and article for us.)

• Connie Abert will receive the $400 grant on behalf of  Parents Who Host Lose the Most.
• Chief Terry Lorge will receive the $400 grant on behalf of the Clintonville Police Department.
• Corene Strohfeldt will receive the $400 grant on behalf of the New London Bull Dogs.
• Bernie Kocher will receive the $400 grant on behalf of the Waupaca County Crime Stoppers.

7.  Information Sharing Program/MOU

Discussion took place regarding having a meeting with the Police Chiefs and the 7 school administrators to have the MOUs signed.  The MOU will be mailed to the administrators in advance and the meeting will be coordinated with the Waupaca County Law Enforcement Administrator Association.  Chief Lorge will forward meeting date, time and location to Connie Abert.

8.  Best Practice Programs:

• Teen Court- Sherry Fisher reported that the 2 municipal judges (Judge Jim Jueds and Judge Dennis Resch) will be willing to make referrals to Teen Court.  Sherry will set up a meeting date for Connie and the 2 municipal judges.
• It was noted that the Quick $50 program (sponsored by the Waupaca County Crime Stoppers) is in place in Clintonville and Waupaca school system.

9.  Membership:

Mary Anich has been asked to represent Waupaca County Department of Health Services at our

WCCCJ meetings.  MaryLea made a motion to accept Mary as a new member, second by Pastor Greg.  Motion carried.

10.  Roundtable:    

Mary Anich noted that the County is in the process of interviewing a new director.

Agenda Item for February:  WI Alliance for Youth has asked our support for legislation that would allow fining of parents who host.

MaryLea noted that the parents of the “PLZGiveKeys” program will present at the July OWI Impact Panel.
